Family

March 1, 2012

Our bulletin cover during these Sundays of Lent is from a digitized reproduction of Pat Wilson Schmid’s painting titled “Family.”  The title of the piece invites our playful imagination: What do you see in the image? What does it have to do with family? Where do you see God’s leading in this creative, human expression?  What hints of closeness, space, warmth, growth, or embrace do you see?  As light shines through a stained-glass window, we invite God’s Spirit to shine through our worship this season, to spark new ways of thinking about and seeing our experience of family.

Pat is a member of the Salford congregation and has her home and studio in Lederach.  She enjoys painting in watercolor, oil, acrylic, and pastel.  Pat says, “When I look upon my subject, I paint from those feelings arising within me.”

Thanks, Pat, for sharing your gift with us!
